About Yuval Shrem

Yuval Shrem started his career as a television composer in Israel in 1995, when he composed, arranged and produced the title music for a summer TV variety show on the Israeli channel 2 titled Freezer, produced by the United Studios of Israel. His collaboration with the United Studios of Israel continued with his original scores and theme songs for successful network television drama series such as A Family and a Half, and mini-serie Postal West Galilee, original songs for musical children shows such as Sofi Toffee, and Ipchi and Dipchi, title music for talk shows such as The Gaffney Show and All Written, and more, accumulating to hundreds of television programs. Additionally, Yuval composed new original songs and a theme song for the international version of the comedy show Zbeng! (Omer Productions / Clasikaletet), and music arrangements and Midi mock-ups used in the successful German TV series Storm of Love (Sturm der Liebe).

Yuval is:

  • A member of the Israeli Academy of Motion Pictures & Television.
  • An associate member of The Recording Academy (Grammys).
  • A member in IUPA (Israeli Union of Performing Artists)
  • A member of ACUM (the Israeli royalties company for authors, composers, lyricists, poets, arrangers and music publishers).

Postal West Galilee

Created by bestselling and award winning Israeli author Galila Ron Federal, this 6 part drama mini-series was an adaptation to her successful book of the same name. It originally aired on Israel’s leading network – channel 2, in 2001 and was followed by a rerun the following year.

The series theme song “The Sweet Dreams” (Lyrics by Hana Goldberg, Music by Yuval Shrem), was performed by Israeli blues legend Danny Litani.

The series starred 2-times Israeli Television Academy award winning actor Yehuda Levi, Israeli Film Academy award winning actress Lucy Dubinchik, Israeli Film Academy award winning actress Hagit Dasberg, Yamit Sol, Dan Turgeman, Moshe Beker, Boaz Gur-Lavi, Dalik Wollinitz, and many more. It was directed by Offer Weizmann and produced for Keshet Broadcasting by The United Studios of Israel.

A Family And A Half

Created by bestselling and award winning Israeli author Galila Ron Feder, this successful drama series about a family with two foster kids, as well as two kids of their own, ran for 4 years (1998 – 2001) with 78 episodes, airing on Israel’s leading network – channel 2, followed by many years of reruns and worldwide syndication.
The series theme song “Say Thanks for Having Eyes” became an Israeli standard, propelling Israeli 80’s rock star Si Himan, who performed it, back to an active recording career, and she ended up including the song in all of her albums since.

The series starred award winning actor Nathan Dattner, award winning actor Lavi Zitner, Israeli TV Academy Award nominated actress Yael Poliakov, as well as Gilya Stern, Dana Marmur and Omer Miller. It was directed by Offer Weizmann and produced for Reshet Broadcasting by The United Studios of Israel.

Ipchi & Dipchi

Created by ACUM Lifetime achievement award winner Michal Hazon, this popular musical comedy TV series for children is about two cute Magical Forest creatures: Ipchi and Dipchi, and their evil nemesis Shnoozle. The series ran for 3 years (2001 – 2003) with 36 episodes, airing on Israel’s leading network – channel 2, followed by reruns and worldwide syndication.

The series starred Uri Omanuti, Inbal Arbel and Sharon Zur. It was directed by Offer Weizmann and produced for Keshet Broadcasting by The United Studios of Israel.

Yuval Shrem composed, arranged and produced the series theme song, arranged and musically directed the first season (first 13 episodes), and composed all of the original songs in the entire series (all 36 episodes).

Sofi Toffee

Created by ACUM Lifetime achievement award winner Michal Hazon, this popular musical drama TV series for children, about a painter named Sofi and her 5-year old alligator friend Toffee, captivated children’s imaginations and ran for 2 years (2001 – 2002) with 26 episodes, airing on Israel’s leading network – channel 2, followed by years of reruns and worldwide syndication.

The series starred Sofi Tzadka and Galia Yshai. It was directed by Offer Weizmann and produced for Reshet Broadcasting by The United Studios of Israel.

Zbeng - International version

Created by Orna Lavi-Flint and Kobi Machat, and based on the popular comic book series by Uri Fink, this successful star-studded comedy series ran for 2 years (1998 – 1999) with 40 episodes, airing on Israel’s leading network – channel 2, and was then sold for international syndication to the French distributor Marathon International.

It was then, when Yuval Shrem was invited to compose a new theme song, as well as a slew of additional songs, to replace the many songs used in the show originally, which could not be used for the international version. Yuval Ended up composing the theme song as well as those replacement songs for 26 of the 40 episodes.

The series starred Leon Rosenberg, Sendi Bar, Yossi Graber, Shiri Gadni, Chaim Elmakias, Elad Katan, Uri Fink, Liron Levo, Adi Ezroni, Iris Abramovich, Tamar Levi, and many more, and produced by Omer Productions and Clasikaletet.

Sturm der Liebe - Money

Yuval Shrem created this arrangement and midi mock-up for this great song from the musical Cabaret (music composed by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb), mostly faithful to the movie version, used in a special episode of the successful German TV series “Sturm der Liebe”. The album with this version of the song reached #5 in the charts in 2015.
