Official movie website
Log line:
A young American veteran with severe PTSD discovers upon his return from Iraq, that everything he had in his life before the war is now gone, and as he tries to find his way back to a normal life, he is encouraged by a fellow veteran to assassinate his commanding officer, whom he blames of causing his trauma on the battlefield, through ordering an illegal attack that killed many civilians.
Synopsis:
Upon his return from serving in the war in Iraq, Michael discovers that home is no longer there to come back to. His father no longer recognizes him. Ann – his girlfriend from before the war has moved on.
The trauma from war debilitates him. He can’t sleep, can’t eat, drinks heavily, and can’t bring himself to face friends and family. It increasingly becomes hard for him to differentiate between his PTSD-related hallucinations and reality.
Lisa Kent, a V.A. therapist, helps him through his difficult struggle, and Johnny – a member of his military company, invites him to join meetings of a group of veterans that he had started, but Paco – another one of his former company members, whom himself suffers from a debilitating PTSD, gives Michael a gun and the current address of Harrison – their commanding officer, whom they both accuse of ordering an illegal attack on a residential building, that killed many civilians, an attack that was the main cause for Michael’s trauma.
Paco urges Michael to assassinate Harrison. Shortly after that encounter, Paco commits suicide. Now on a mission to assassinate his commanding officer, Michael is more lost than ever.
Is there hope for him, or is his life doomed like Paco’s?
